To Whom It May Concern This is to certify that 4x4 Everest VIN: MNAAXXMAWAFM00000 meets the definition of an OFF-ROAD PASSENGER VEHICLE (MC) as described by section 4.3.3 of “Vehicle Standard (Australian Design Rule – Definitions and Vehicle Categories) 2005 made under the Motor Vehicle Standards Act 1989”, 14th May 2016. We trust this is of assistance.
Yours sincerely, MARK CRUSE

The above is the stock standard letter in response to the apparent fix, who is happy with it? and, who thinks that it is not telling us anymore than we already know, ie we knew from the start it met the criteria...

The above is the stock standard letter in response to the apparent fix, who is happy with it? and, who thinks that it is not telling us anymore than we already know, ie we knew from the start it met the criteria... It works for me... Along with the work Ford did in gaining acceptance from the Road Authorities across all states and territories we can all do what we want to a vehicle that is as delivered, we can now modify it under exempted modifications like any other 4WD being the result from the campaign. Have some pity for the Jeep gang who are still stuck with FCA not moving on their MA classified vehicles. It was never about the capability of the vehicle, it was always about the regulation/registration and Design Rule compliance. (Red tape and welcome to co-operative federalism, i.e. every state and territory does the same thing their way and causes us all grief...).

Hi, I'm not happy with it as it does not state that it has been accepted by authorities as MC. I have written back to Ford and asked them to include this.

Yes it is all a little rushed and unorganised, they should send all owners some documentation with details

Thanks for you guidance. I made a technical query to my state registration authority (Queensland in my case) and they provided a written response confirming that they treat my MA plated vehicle as MC when or if my vehicle is inspected for registration compliance so I am comfortable with the combined FoA and QTMR documents.

But do the police treat it the same way? They would be the first to pull you up and say your vehicle is not compliant. Do you then want to go through the process of having to go to have your vehicle inspected, and only to find out that the vehicle inspectors turn you away as they know it is compliant already? I do not want to be in that situation where my time is wasted, which is why I have approached Ford to produce a letter that says something along the lines of: " relevant state authorities recognise that it meets the definition of" and not just "... meets the definition of ..." Still waiting for a reply from Ford btw.
