Yes the reductant heater engine light fault can be turned off at the engine control unit ecu and it will cost about $300 which is cheaper than $1500 for a new one to be put in. Ford won't do it but most diesel specialists can do it for you

Hi Leon,
thanks for sharing. i also purchase the 2015 Everest model. been driving it for 6 years, now the engine light lit on. call my dealer, they say the ad-blue heater is faulty, they said my extended warranty won't cover those parts. under warrant, and ask me to replaced for $1600 at my own cost.
After reading your Everest problem, i decided to take the car home. (got charge by the dealer service center $200 + or something for the diagnose). i been driving it for 2 weeks with the engine light on, but the car operate normally. hopefully it will not die on me.

Hello,i have a 2019 Ford Everest with a Add Blue service warning alarm flashing and engine light on the dash staying on, just wondering how to fix or reset fault code or what the problem is, as the local dealership is very reluctant to assist?Alarm says the car will shut down once it has reached the remaining 780kms?Thanks Brett...

Hi We have the same issue with our 2015 Everest Adblue heater element failing. The engine light has been on for the last 10,000k since last July and our local Ford want $2550 to replace it as it is out of warranty. We have had a case with Ford Australia for the past 3 months to see if they will rectify it as it is clearly a warranty issue and shouldn't fail at just 37,000ks as ours was last July, but they have just informed us that unless our dealer finds it a manufacturing default then they couldn't put it back to their team for consideration. We doubt our dealer is prepared to do that and even if it is replaced it will most likely fail again, so we are now looking for someone who can install the correct value resistor across the wires for the heater. We are near the Queensland border so if anyone has a contact we would love to hear from them.

It is currently with the dealer being replaced under warranty. Having read that it can be a recurring issue I am considering getting rid of the car. The other option that I will consider is as suggested further above of having the vehicle computer rejigged to delete the adblue system.

Hi all,
I just had the same issue with my adblue heater on my 2015 Everest, only travelled 110k. I got in touch with Ford Australia and after some negotiation and work with the local dealer (not a fun experience, and a reason why I no longer took my car there after the warranty expired), Ford have covered the cost for the replacement adblue heater. Dealer had quoted $2,000 plus to replace when the issue was diagnosed.
My Everest is back on the road and Ford covered all costs. The Ford Australia team was great to work with during the process, local dealer not so great.
I believe they have now extended the warranty for this particular issue.
Love my Everest and glad its back on the road!!
