Another new Everest discovery. On Labour day we took the Queenscliff/Sorrento ferry for the first time since we had our Everest. As the ferry was pulling away from the dock we could hear a car alarm going off. The kids said it sounded like our car (we've only set it off 1 time on purpose the day after we bought it). Sure enough I went down to look and the Everest was having a total dummy spit. I didn't know how to turn it off other than unlocking it. So I left it unlocked for the rest of the trip. The deck hand was having a bit of a chuckle and told me Everests and Mustangs don't like it on the ferry. On the return trip I had a look through the owners manual to see how to turn the alarm off and have the doors locked. I couldn't find anything but I did set it to "reduced guard" and it didn't go off when we were under way. There were a few swell movements and such on the return trip so I don't know if that was what stopped it from going off.

We took our Everest on a ferry today and the alarm kept going off. Had to unlock it.

Use reduced guard, fixed. Most cars dont monitor movements just if doors are opened while alarmed, so turning it to reduced guard turns off motions sensors. ;-)

I often sleep in car on camping trips. You can set to reduced alarm however if you get in and out during the night you have to keep resetting it as it automatically switches back to full alarm each time. This is very frustrating in quiet camping areas where you have to open and shut doors and also headlights auto on and off. Is there some way to permanently switch off for a period of time until you are ready to switch back to full?
