Hi all,
I'm looking at buying a Kimberly Kamper and after peoples experience and advice towing this Kamper.
1. Should I go for the extended drawbar, pro's and con's 2. Drum brakes or disc brakes? 3. What brake controller are you using? 4. What suspension mods to the Everest are needed for a comfortable ride towing the Kamper?
Thanks guy's
Steve.

Hi Steve,
Can only really comment on #3. The Redarc Tow Pro is an awesome bit of kit. Had mine fitted before delivery and it's been flawless so far.
Only towing a Jayco Eagle so not really heavy duty use but can recommend!!
Happy trails!
Dan

Kimberley company is in big trouble. They are gradually making more and more bits in China.

Probably a bit late a response for you but I tow a KK with my Everest. KK’s are heavy on the drawbar so yes get the extended drawbar, if you want electric brakes go for drums if you are on a budget as they are designed to be electric from the get go. KK also do a electric over hydraulic brake system but many owners have some troubles with the hydrostar controller (handbrake and water/dust ingress related). I personally just have hydraulic overrides on mine which work fine and their is always an option to upgrade to the electric controller if needed. I had the Teconsha P3 and found it great but Redarc do a very small and neat brake controller that I would go for if fitting one now. As for suspension mods I plan to just run air bags in my standard rear springs for now. I am currently getting away without them but it does sit down in the bum. Bags will help and eventually springs may need upgrading. Keep in mind that the ball weight on a KK can get to 300kg and as such it only leaves 395kg of cargo including passengers fuel, gear and the weight of any accessories before you have blown your GVM.
BS to the comment about KK making more and more bits in China. The management recently was restructured and the factory is currently slow to respond to requests but the units are still quality and manufactured in Ballina NSW. They employ about 65 people and parts are sourced from all over the world as required to build a quality product.
