Hi all awaiting approval into the group, I’ve got a Everest Trend 2016 with 240,000 kms on the clock. We are travelling around Aus so are doing long drives without stopping (up to about 1.5-3 hours) After having a break of about an hour or so we starting driving again and almost every time lately we get a spanner light flash up on the dash, I have an OBD II scan tool which comes up with a fault P0721 (output shaft speed sensor) We have had the transfer case motor replaced which has the speed sensor located on it. But after few days after leaving the mechanic in Broome who replaced it for us the fault came back. His only suggestion was to get Ford to look at it, which is an issue as in WA there are only Perth and Geraldton which we are very far from and give no help over the phone.
The car has higher revs and clunky gear changes once the error comes up. Turning off the car sometimes gets the error to go away and always goes off if we leave it over night. I was wondering if anyone had experiences a similar issue, multiple mechanics have not been able to find a solution as it’s an intermittent electrical fault that doesn’t present itself easily when the mechanics are looking at it. Multiple Short trips around town never seem to get the error either. Any advice would be appreciated Thanks !
