I've had my Everest for about 6 months now and although the excitement of a new car has faded I think this is one of the best cars I've had and love driving it. Everyone knows about the good things the Everest has to offer but there are a few things about it that I have to to wonder what were the designers thinking when they put pen to paper and started the process. It might be fun to see what annoys owners about thier Everests.
Some of the things that I think the designers really did't put to much thought to.
1) My kids are pre-teen age and ride in the back seat. Their legs are just long enough to keep pressing on the front seatbelt connection on the bottom of the b-pillar. Why couldn't the seatbelt be inside the panel 30cm or so up the b-pillar like my old Navara was? I'm constantly getting my seatbelt tugged by them hitting it with their feet.
2) The interior panels in the boot have to be made of the cheapest plastic. The sides of my boot are already scratched up and I don't carry anything more than shopping or a bit of camping gear in the boot. A harder plastic that doesn't mark so easily would be better.
3) Those fancy silver bumper trim things are nice to look at but a real pain to get clean at the car wash. I use a big sponge to wash it and it's too hard to get in there to clean it properly. I don't think there serve any purpose other than looks.
4) Every other 4wd in the country has blanks for light switches etc. They should talk to the guys that are making the aftermarket ones between the 12v plugs.
5) The centre console storage under the armrest is known to us the black hole. Put something in there and it will be lost forever. Our Navara had a shelf under the lid that smaller items could be stored.
Tell us your peeves of your car.

Our outlander has that lid and ts so handy.
I want it to show 4WD mode on the screen at all times if not normal - helps if you knock it off normal.

Also need the boot button in the middle. If I get out as driver SD go to open boot, it won't open even with car is In park. Unless that's a "lock when I drive away" feature.

Totally Agree!! Our Trend is only a month old and already scratched up by nothing more than a few boxes. Its really sad that a one month old car looks like a 4 year old car
The same with the back of the seat fabric. The fabric collects the dust from the kids shoes, even though they don't rest their feet on the seat. Gggrrrrr

Main gripe so far: There is a tire pressure monitor system in the Titanium model however it's only function seems to be displaying a warning light when the tire pressure is too low. Doesn't even tell you which tire it is. Wireless tire pressure monitoring systems that displays each tires pressure individually in real time are pretty common after market 4X4 accessories. Ford included all the sensors and tech in the car but just decided not to display all the information, why? Someone please tell me I'm mistaken and there is a way to get the individual tire pressure readings up on the dash display.

I know what you mean, we left a caravan park this morning and it seemed like the engine was revving really high on a flat road. After a few minutes I sorted it out I was in sand mode??? Must have bumped it after we took off. I didn't notice the window that said I moved the selector. A little icon on one the side screens would be useful.

1. The only place it doesn't have a light? Where the ignition key goes in of course. 2. No magnet in the adblue filler neck to trigger the adblue pump nozzle at the servo. 3. Needs an "Alarm Disable" option. Ours goes on heat randomly day or night. Think caravan park at 3am. 4. Lack of service centres in northern Australia. 5. Bulldust loves the rear tailgate surround between the seal and the outside world. What a mess. 6. An ignition KEY? Really? I'd forgotten what an actual key looked like. 7. Needs reprogramming to turn off annoying warning beeps. (Poor thing gets separation anxiety) 8. Charging voltage drops after main battery is charged. Not good for auxiliary battery charging. (can reprogram and/or use Redarc).
But don't get me wrong .... I would not part with my Henry V. It's a monster in disguise.

Ford should probably sort out there leaking rear mains, weak automatic transmission another sore spot after warranty is gone. It could be worse they could have put the legendary power shift transmission in them, poor paint quality is another issue. I could go on for days but it is what it is. Cheap
