Very Nice cars those Everest But still no match for the Prado off-road Wrong place for those comments... I would argue that until you have driven one off-road / own one and have put it to use, you cant really comment. Vids never capture the whole truth of whats going on. This is coming from a previous FJ Cruiser owner, arguably better off-road then the Prado, "and that coming from Toyota circles", however the Everest has done everything I have expected it to, and i'm still in the modified FJ mindset when i'm behind the wheel of the 'BlueOval'

( FJ Cruiser ) Going from a petrol to diesel off-road would be a huge improvement. And yes I have driven an Everest Off-road it was far from bad but the Prado Simply is more capable off-road.

Good discussion though, for the % that most Everest's will spend with wheels in the air, the more flexible rear end of the Prado doesn't make up for the overall better appointed Everest. I was always going to upgrade to Prado after my FJ, but im not that short sighted that I cannot see past the Toyota badge. Garreth The Chassis design is based on the Prado Platform they did not want a new production line for just the FJ, so the reworked the Prado chassis. Having 20 years of 4wding experience, petrol v diesel motors for off-road use is chulk and cheese The Prado is just setup for off-road use wheel travel front and back is only one of many advantages Not that the Everest is bad, it is just up against hard competition and they leaned towards Onroad use with a few fancy " Off-road " buttons to place it under the 4x4 marquee tent. We tend to just use Everest solely on the Tarmac now and will look at another SUV for 4wding. Yes I will look to join Thanks

With 20+ years of 4wding experience around Australia from touring to Competition my advise is Stop reading reviews get out and amongst the 4wd scene the everst is far from bad off road but I don't even think it's questionable. The Everest's suspension lacks articulation and is very stiff, Lifting wheels looks great but is not helping, coupled with an Ok 4x4 traction system it goes alright but a Prado will go further with less stress off-road It's only a Badge, I was not hurt when our Everest got stuck and Toyota did not it's just another 4wd
