Was just going through terms and conditions of the RACV Roadside Care that is provided as part of the purchase and ongoing service for the Everest. Not sure if others are aware that Roadside Care is limited to 2.5t GVM maximum for towing. Hence the Everest at 3.1t GVM is not covered for towing. To get towing coverage you need to pay for RACV Extra Care or Total Care.
This is something I was not made aware of at purchase and I think I was somewhat misled...
I will likely upgrade to Total Care anyway for the other benefits, but I have expressed my disappointment to Ford Customer Care. They advised me to upgrade the coverage to Extra Care.
Just thought I'd draw it to everyone's attention in case you hadn't read the fine print.
I suggest it would be worth checking with your local state roadside assistance provider on coverage for towing.

I might take that up with my dealer at the next service (due soon) as it's a selling point for genuine servicing.

RACQ has same terms and conditions. Had to upgrade to ultracare to cover Trend and caravan. Only have to pay difference. Have not asked Ford who would pay for towing if it needed to be done under basic level RACQ.

If you have more than 1 vehicle it works out better with total care as you as a driver are covered for any car your driving and you can also nominate a car ( say the Mrs. Car ) to be covered as well

Correct me if I am wrong with the way I am thinking. Roadside care can tow a vehicle upto 2.5t. any more then you require extra care or total care. The everest titianium kerb weight is only 2346kg so it is within the 2.5t towing for RACV The only issue you would have is if you where touring and your vehicle was close to GVM with all the extra gear. for everyone else who use it as a soccer mum's vehicle, the basic cover is enough.

We usually have RACQ Ultimate care if travelling outback etc (200km breakdown,100km towing, accommodation and vehicle hire)for $194 a year and go back to RACQ Plus Care around home (100km breakdown,50km towing) for $64 after the Ford assistance contribution.
We have been towed (on a tray) in WA with RACQ cover and they didn't seem to care what I weight was but thanks for the heads up.
