I’ve dove down this path so can share some insights: - Rhino roof platforms are 144 thinner than yakima roof racks (Rhino 1928x1236, Yakima 1930x1380) so the roof Yakima ones hang over the car a little more than the rhino. In this instance I think Rhino’s look fit ms better on the roof of the Everest. - Yakima flush rail leg kits (8002001 LNL) get a better ‘grab/hold’ on the existing Everest rails thank the Rhino ‘SX’ system, with Rhino SX only grabbing on side of each rail where as the Yakima kit grabs on both sides of the Everest rail. - Rhino platforms have a 2 way structural frame to them with the wider panels running long ways with the car. - Yakima platforms have only a one way structural framing (except for 2 small brace panels) and the wider panels run across the car. Some argue wind resistance, others argue strength. - I think the load rating for both is pretty poor. If you’re chasing a decent load the backbone system by rhino is by far the more structurally sound set up, but it’s also the most expensive, hardest to install and not easily removable if you want to return your car to original to sell.
In the end I went Yakima with the flush rail kit as i was sus on the rails the Everest’s have to bolt onto, and wanted to be sure that my platform wouldn’t fly off when I’m driving with a roof full of gear 5x the roof racks load capacity 😂

I had a bad experience with rhino roof bars moving a sheet of checker plate aluminum in a light weight wooden frame. a short gust of wind from the side ripped the roof bars clean off. Fortunately no damage but l wouldn't trust them again. A 4mm lip grip is not sufficient in my mind. In my old Prado they were bolted down. Clamped on racks can't be trusted. Cheers 23/01/2022: I have just had the same experience. Did you replace the racks and with what?

I have the Yakama platform on my 2017 titanium...clamps onto roof rails...no need to remove roof lining... awesome rack...very quiet...heaps of options...here is a pic of it unloaded... Damn coronavirus can't load it up and head out Hi uncleroy, I picked up my 2022 Everest Trend recently and saw this thread. I'm also looking at installing a roof platform. Don't want to risk removing the roof lining of my new car. I wonder if you still remember the model of the 4 legs that your platform is mounted on. I saw the "Lock n Load Flush Rail Leg Pack of 4" for sale online with $189 incl. GST. I'm in Melbourne, but the seller is in Queensland. So want to make sure they fit the flush rails before ordering.

Yeah I think that's them...they came with the platform which was installed by Everything 4wd Cranbourne...don't think they itemised the legs on the invoice so give Glenn a call and they can confirm...they sell them too

Hi Purchased Everest WildTrak - looking for recommendations if there are any roof racks out there that still allow you to use the function of the SunRoof
